Cost You Nothing

Directed by Patricia Kelly / 2020 / 10 mins

A mother’s fractious relationship with her son disintegrates when she cannot accept the man he has become. Transgender Alex returns to the family home for a make-or-break reunion, hoping to build a crucial bridge between himself and his mother but things do not go to plan, which forces him to make a hard decision about how to move on with his life.

Director Statement

I am passionate about highlighting stories and characters not typically seen in film, amplifying voices not often heard on the big screen. Cost You Nothing highlights the important and current subject of transgenderism and working with main lead actor, Jack Murphy, who himself is a transgender man, brought a special nuance to our film.

Directed, written and produced by: Patricia Kelly
