Hunger

Directed by Mark Dollard / 2020 / 9 min

Synopsis

A heroin addict is pursued by a menacing figure.

Director Statement

This short is a response to the growing poverty and social degradation of Irish society in recent times. Homelessness figures have never been higher. Drug abuse is a common sight on the streets of our cities. Too often, drug addicts are dismissed and dehumanised. With this film, my aim is to use the tropes of horror cinema and vampire lore to show the human side of drug addiction, to provide an insight into the mind of someone who’s being driven by a demon.
