The Familiar Sting

Synopsis

Contemporary Belfast, where Matt, a homeless addict haunted by memories of his girlfriend’s abortion, breaks into a house for reasons not as straightforward as they initially seem.

Director Statement

We were both born and raised in Northern Ireland, a place that is known as a post-conflict society, which is now becoming a vibrant part of the UK and Ireland. But last year, as we were looking for our next project, we read the script for The Familiar Sting (written by Paul Skillen) and we both committed ourselves to making the film. This film has interesting characters, a receptive story and timely subject matter – women’s reproductive rights in Northern Ireland in 2019.
We hope that you enjoy our film.
